Like a lot of people, I think the trend to create life changing resolutions has taken a back seat to changes and things which we want to do and achieve in the New Year. To that end here are my list of goals for the New Year:
Health and Fitness
Exercise at least 4 times a week – ideally 6 – I feel so much better when I exercise regularly
Go to yoga twice a week – I feel so much better, more present and centered when I do this, I’m addicted. I do Hot Yoga and I just love how good I feel afterwards. To that end…
Learn to do a yoga handstand – I really want to crack this!
Drink more water – everyone always says this don’t they? But its so important! Trying to get on board with the lemon water first thing but it’s not an easy feat!
General Well being
Less phone time in company – in 2015 I heard a speaker say using your phone in company is like saying to the person you are with that you are not as important as my phone, and I think that’s a horrible message to communicate to whoever’s company you are in. This year, less phone time, more face-time !
To be more groomed – I can get REALLY lazy in this department – I would like to step up my gain, and my personal maintenance and try to be more groomed at least 90% of the time.
Career & Finances
Get to grip with my finances – limit purchases only to to those items which spark joy.
Read my professional goals every night and every morning – it reemphasizes what you’re working towards and stops you from drifting.
Find the why in the goals and read that too – again – reemphasizing what you’re doing and picking you up in times when you need it most.
Eating and Drinking
Learn a new recipe at least every month – I did pretty good at this last year, I’d like to build on my library of dinner recipes
Learn 4 new cookies and perfect them by December and bake one each week during the month of December
No but seriously…
Move out of our apartment and buy a place – this by far is my main goal for this year
There’s something to a new year which fills us all with excitement and anticipation – no doubt. But setting goals, following through and staying committed with ensure for a great year. What goeals and hopes do you have for the upcoming year…?
